In today's fast paced and complex business environment, optimization and cost cutting are two important themes on the agenda of the CXOs. In this context, IT Managed Services provide a solid value proposition and have enjoyed a strong growth over the last couple of years and the trend is expected to continue in the future as well. Today, service providers are launching low-cost, highly flexible service delivery platforms that leverage ‘commoditized technology’ to provide more ‘productized services’ to organizations. Organizations across verticals and segments are benefitting from these models and opening their mindsets towards “outsourcing” and thereby leading to a pivotal shift in the ways these services are being delivered and consumed.

However, over the last few years, some of the more mature organizations have realized that in order to have unmatched experience and to reap the full benefits out of investments made; it is important to have a proactive management of applications, and not just infrastructure to ensure their health at all times.

This new perspective has changed the way application management services are offered. Increasingly, it is becoming a ‘must have’ than ‘good to have’ which is also clearly visible from the latest Springboard Research survey wherein 50% of the respondent CIOs cited their plans of investing in application management services in the next one year. In the coming years, we will certainly see an increased adoption of application management services and a whole new ecosystem being developed around them.
