Bjorn Engelhardt, Vice President, SaaS Group, Asia Pacific & Japan Geography is responsible for managing and growing Symantec’s software-as-a-service business throughout the region.

Engelhardt assumed his current position in 2009 and was previously the Senior Director of Security Data Management Group business unit sat Symantec for Asia Pacific & Japan. He joined Symantec through acquisition of Enterprise Vault (KVS) in 2004 by Veritas.

He led KVS from a small startup of six people and less than $1m in revenue to over $60m in revenue as the fourth largest product set in Symantec. Enterprise Vault has become the clear market leader in revenue and customer base across APJ, with sales in every country that Symantec operates in across APJ.

Engelhardt also established security and compliance practice across Asia Pacific to address growing markets’ concerns around IT governance, risk and compliance. This included several multi-million dollars deals in Asia South, large data loss prevention deals in Australia & Japan as well as building a team that focuses on the new threats based on information rather than physical security.

With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry as well as broad based business, Engelhardt has held several senior management positions across multiple geographies in companies like KVS, Citrix Systems, Datapac, and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. He carries as Post Graduate Diploma of Administration from MacQuarie Graduate School of Management and earlier undertaking a Bachelor of Business at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
