James Erickson
  Research Manager, Middle East-Africa

“I was intrigued by Springboard’s growing involvement in the emerging, underdeveloped, and typically under- researched markets that are too often ignored by Springboard’s more traditional competitors. The company’s highly flexible research model is ideal for clients eager to map out a cost-effective blueprint for bridging the digital divide in the truly unique markets of the Middle East/Africa region.”

As a Research Manager, James manages and supports research projects focused on the Middle East and Africa region.  Besides managing regional research projects, James also supports business development efforts in the region.  James is currently spearheading our latest drive into the Middle East and Africa through Springboard’s global research center in Casablanca, Morocco.

Much of the work that James has done is focused on tracking and researching markets in the Middle East and Africa, with a particular emphasis on the role of the public sector has in driving IT investment in these countries. His excellent analytic skills have proven to be valuable assets in producing high quality reports that have proven vital for Springboard clients looking to gain a better understanding and stronger foothold in these relatively overlooked markets.

Prior to joining Springboard Research, James earned a Masters in Conflict Studies at Utrecht University in the Netherlands.  In writing his thesis, James conducted in depth, on-the-ground research on post-conflict reconstruction and development in sub-Saharan Africa.  He obtained his undergraduate degree in History and Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
